Green, Shai

Ben Tzila and Shlomo. Born on 29.8.1971 in Herzliya, son and grandson of Bechor, brother of Idit and Yuval, he grew up in Herzliya Pituach, and from his window he saw a field of chrysanthemums and a view of the Mediterranean Sea, which later influenced his great talent for design and painting. He studied at the kindergarten of Mother Tzilla, a veteran kindergarten teacher in Herzliya, continued at Nof Yam Elementary School and completed his studies at the Rishonim High School in the biological track. In addition to his studies, Shay was active from an early age in the Scouts movement in Herzliya, in the Shachaf tribe, first as a regular trainee, As well as on trips and trips, and was careful to maintain close ties with his many friends, who met at school and at the school, and after high school he traveled with his three close friends from kindergarten, For a short trip to France and Scandinavia, a trip from which they returned immediately to enlist in the IDF. In October 1989, Shai enlisted and began training in the armored corps. In early 1991 he completed a tank commander course and served as a tank commander in an operational battalion, mainly in Lebanon, and at the end of his service Shai was appointed to the RS, and in this role he exploited the skills of design And filled the base with new signage and new stickers for all vehicles. Immediately after his release from the IDF, Shai joined the army and spent a few months traveling to India and Kashmir, enjoying the simplicity and quiet he met there. At the college, Shai was distinguished immediately, both professionally and socially. He lived in a small apartment on the Carmel, dividing his time between demanding studies and occasional jobs he did for a living. In the course of his studies, he accumulated quite a few paintings, sketches, and various design projects. “Shai was very talented,” said the head of the college program. “From year to year he was better, developed and improved professionally.” Shai completed his studies cum laude, and took great pains to prepare the graduation exhibition of the graduates. A few days after graduating, Shai was accepted to the Arieli advertising agency in Tel Aviv. After a few months he asked to go ahead and went to Shalmor Avnon Amichai, and after a short interview he was hired as a director. Shai began coordinating the advertising system of the Orange-Partner cellular company, a large budget of a company at the beginning of its career. He worked long hours, creating initiatives and ideas that were prominent in their originality. One of the advertising projects earned him and his team the Schocken Network’s “Goldfish” award and a trip to Bali Island. Shai’s manager at the advertising agency said, “We’re an office that’s pretty hard to get into in creative professions, and Shai caught us with his smile and his personality … He had a portfolio that showed tremendous potential, but that’s the kind of person you see the beginning and do not know where the end is. That he would be so excellent and good at what he was doing, just infinite potential, everything he did was better than the previous thing, he had infinite modesty on the one hand, and infinite talent on the other. ” “I followed Shay ‘s work, and he made a bigger jump outside than at school … Not that we did not expect, but within two years he had almost reached the top of design in terms of advertising possibilities, and he had outstanding achievements. ” All the data pointed to the future of my gazeIn the world of advertising and design. During his studies at the college, Shai met Liat, and upon completing their studies, the couple moved to Tel Aviv and began to plan a common future. They traveled a lot in the country, and loved to go to remote places and discover the beautiful Land of Israel. In his spare time Shay liked to listen to Israeli music, Ehud Banai was one of his favorite singers. His favorite sport was running. Shai participated in numerous short-distance running competitions. At the end of his regular service Shai was assigned to reserve duty in the Armored Corps, and since then he has gone to reserve duty every year, whether in operational or training activities. “Shai played a great deal of responsibility and precision,” said his commander, Col. Uzi, “a person who can be trusted and his word. “As security events in Israel intensify and reservists are required to make an extra effort, many battalions perform reserve duty hours and days beyond the service threshold, and places of work find it difficult to meet the required load margins from reserve duty teams and there are Who took part in a tank exercise in Tze’elim in preparation for the next exercise On August 6, 2000, Shai was killed in an accident when a grenade Exploded on the turret tank during the exercise. He was twenty-nine when he fell. After his death he was promoted to the rank of Major General Shai was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Herzliya, and was survived by his parents, sister, brother and friend. Too much work has accumulated to allow ourselves to have a day in the office. But convincing Shai to postpone or cancel reserve duty was not a chance. He did it like everything he did-in perfection, in love. Shai is from the rare kind of people who almost never complained, did not complain. Always with a charming smile on your face. All in a calm, modest way. And not that he had nothing to be proud of. Shai was an outstanding talent, always full of ideas and doing them the best. If it’s an advertisement for television, a newspaper, billboards … all to the end. He did not give himself up with a comma, even if it forced him to stay in the office nights and nights, at the expense of the little time. All the time there was this dilemma, whether to return home to Liat whom he loved so much, and the perfectionism that left him, just another hour … and another and more. A gift that we received for work just over a year ago. A lovely gift, a wonderful gift that I was glad to say praise even before he left. Not always in his face, but he knew. “One year and three weeks after Shai’s death, on his thirtieth birthday, a gallery of his works, drawings, sketches and design posters opened at the Neve Tzedek gallery. , Which was prepared by his girlfriend Liat, at the opening ceremony of the exhibition, Shai’s mother, Tzila, spoke: “… The easiest thing is to shut yourself up and think only of you, the hardest thing is to go out and make up and celebrate. The easiest is to be sad, the hardest to be happy. It’s easiest to cry, the hardest to laugh. But believe me Shai, we tried, and in some of the things we succeeded. If only you will be proud of us, and that we will all be worthy of you. And know you Shai! You had a great right to your wonderful work, to the success you had. “Shai, there are no comforts, you know, and the statute of limitations will not apply to the pain, but your smile, and the joy of life, hold us firmly into the future.”
