Grabowski, Menachem
Son of Reizel and Alter. He was born in 1868 in Kremenzog, Russia, and immigrated to Israel with his family in 1882. His parents were among the founders of Rosh Pina, and as a young man Menachem Schumer was distinguished by heroism and resourcefulness, and was described by one of his contemporaries as “tall and broad-shouldered , Blond mustache. The ideal pushed him to migrate to the Land of the Patriarchs and to honor Ofra in the act, to build his home and to establish a family there, with his own desire – land work and rooting for it. “He achieved these goals and established a large family of ten children. Migdal Farm was a place where the fever had spread. Menahem fell ill but neglected his health until he contracted black-urinary fever and died of his illness in 1917. He was laid to rest in Rosh Pina, leaving a wife, seven sons and three sons, one of whom was killed in 1938 in an encounter with an Arab gang.
