On the day the first truce entered into force on Tuesday, 10.6.1948, the Syrians attacked the settlement, fought against them until the last bullet, standing alone on the balcony of the Segal House, even when they were already inside the settlement and set fire to the houses they had conquered. He fell in front of his mother, who was later taken captive by the Syrians to all the Jews in the village.
