Gozalker, Daniel (“Danny”)


Son of Michael and Simcha. He was born on 20 June 1935 in Bombay, India, and after graduating from high school in India, he moved to Israel in 1954. When he arrived in Israel, he began studying frameworks and climbing, working as a scaffolder at Solel Boneh. He was a good friend and would help anyone in need, was drafted into the IDF in December 1955 and served in the Combat Engineering Corps when he was in the regular army. He participated in the Sinai Campaign and then served in the reserves. Even the Six Day War was mobilized and fell in a battle near Ein Zeitim in the Galilee on the first day of the battles, on the 26th of Iyar 5727 (5.6.1967). He left a wife and two children. He was laid to rest at the military cemetery in Haifa. His memory was raised in “Foundations” in the journal of the Workers’ Union.
