Uri, son of Helena and Haim, was born in Petah Tikva on January 23, 1953. He studied at the elementary school in Ganei Tikva and later graduated from the high school in Tel Aviv He loved the kibbutz life very much. Uri joined Kibbutz Na’an after six years of elementary school and a year later returned to his parents’ home. He was a sports fan and a member of the basketball team of Hapoel Petah Tikva. He had many friends and everyone liked him for his good temper and his easy nature. As a music lover he devoted his free time to listening to records and even playing guitar. He was naturally optimistic and cheerful, loving life and enjoying it.
