Gordon, Shneur
Son of Rabbi Yechiel Mordechai. Born in 1916 in Lomza, Poland, his father, who was the head of the yeshiva in the town, educated his son on the Torah, Shneur studied Torah and Gemara at the yeshiva and was successful in his studies, Israel, in order to continue his studies at Yeshivat Hevron, and during the course of the 1936-1939 events he joined the Haganah in Jerusalem and later enlisted in the Nutrim corps. On April 9, 1939, when he returned from guard duty in the Arnona neighborhood of Jerusalem, a bullet was fired from his rifle and he was wounded by mortal wounds. That same night he died of his wounds and was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery on the Mount of Olives. A list of his figure was published in the memorial book for the community of Lomza.
