Goni, Eli (Na’amat)
Son of David and Rivka. He was born in 1954 and immigrated to Israel in 1957 with his family, who settled in Kfar Sava. He studied at the Etzion Elementary School in Kfar Sava and later studied carpentry at the “Torah and Crafts” high school in Tel Aviv. He had gold hands and he excelled in craftsmanship and most of the furniture in his parents’ home he did with his own hands. His many friends also won gifts from time to time. Prior to his enlistment, he managed to work in his profession and even studied the profession of leadership in a pre-military course. He loved music and enjoyed his guitar. Eli enlisted in the IDF in mid-May 1972 and was assigned to the Armored Corps, where he was trained as a half-track driver. After only five months of service, on the 21 th of Tishrei 5723 (21.10.1972), he died during his service. He was laid to rest in the Kfar Sava cemetery. In a letter of condolence to the family, his commander wrote: “During the brief period in which he served in my unit, he became fond of all his friends and commanders and was discovered as a model soldier and an excellent driver.”
