Goldstein, Shaul


Son of Shimon and Clara; An only son to his parents. He was born on 15 July 1936 in Bucharest, the capital of Romania. The house and its surroundings were saturated with Zionist atmosphere. He studied at the “Tarbut” elementary school and his whole ambition was to immigrate to Israel. As a teenager, he joined the Zionist youth movements. After the Second World War, when the Romanian government forbade belonging to a Zionist movement, it began to work underground. Finally, in 1950, the entire family immigrated to Israel. He immediately disembarked from the ship in Haifa and separated from his parents and went to his friends in Kibbutz Hamadia in Beit She’an; Where he worked and studied and received a matriculation certificate. After two years in the kibbutz, he returned home. For about a year he worked in the army until he was drafted into the IDF in December 1953. On 9.7.1955 he fell in the line of duty and was put to rest at the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul.
