Goldschmidt, Yaakov (“Ringel”)


Yaakov, son of Reuven and Roza Goldshmidt, was born on March 30, 1920 in Barker, Germany. He graduated from the Gymnasium there and then immigrated to Israel in 1939. For three years he belonged to the Palmach and he was drafted into the IDF in December 1949. Yaakov fell in the course of his duties on November 12, 1950. He was laid to rest in the cemetery in Kfar Menahem where he lived. After his death, he was promoted to Lieutenant.
