Goldman, Zvi (“Redhead”)


Son of Yehoshua and Tzipora. He was born on August 28, 1926 in the city of Michow, Poland. In 1934 he immigrated with his parents to Israel and the family settled in Rishon Letzion. He graduated from an elementary school there. He worked as a locksmith at Tel Nof Airport. He was drafted into the IDF in March 1948 and participated in dozens of battles and operations in the War of Independence, including Tel Arish, Beit Afa, Sawafir, Abadis, Negba, Operation Nachshon, Operation Ten Plagues, the breakthrough to the Negev and more. Swiden, in which he participated, excelled in revealing courage and courage in rescuing his comrades, fell in the course of his duties on the 17th of Sivan 5709 (June 14, 1949) and was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery in Rishon Letzion.
