Goldman, Zvi (Harry)


Son of Minna and Pinchas was born on 10.3.1930 in the city of Frankfurt am Main, Germany. From the age of two to fourteen, he and his family fled from the Germans. In November 1945 the family arrived in Israel and settled in Holon. Zvi began working as a metal scribe. Zvi joined the “Kiryati” Brigade in December 1947. He participated in the defense of Holon, Moledet, Bat Yam, in attacks on Tel Arish and Jabalya, and in the conquest of Yazur, Beit Dagon and Sarafand. Zvi fell in battle for Sarafand on the 4th of Sivan, June 11, 1948, two hours before the first truce came into effect. He was laid to rest at the military cemetery in Nahalat Yitzhak.
