Goldcorn, Haim (Figela)

Goldcorn, Haim (Figela)

Son of Bitta and Mordechai, was born on August 1, 1929, in the city of Glazenkirchen, Germany. When he was five years old, he immigrated with his parents to Israel and grew up and was educated as a countryman. He graduated from Tachkemoni School in Tel Aviv, studied electrical engineering and worked in the service of refrigerators. He was a member of the “Scouts” and “Maccabi” movement and was active in the Hagana since the age of 13. According to Moro’s testimony, Chaim had a sense of responsibility and was willing to help others. The neighbors remember how he used to leave his childhood games and eat Haim Arlosoroff’s old mother as she went up and down the steps of the house or walked through the dark alley on RNK Street, and his friends liked him and his employers respected him. On December 14, 1947, a convoy of seven cars left Petah Tikva with 48 reinforcements for son of Shemen. Surprisingly, the convoy traveled not in the usual way, but through Migdal Tzedek and Beit Nabala. The convoy managed to advance despite the fire from several places and mishaps that occurred to the vehicles. When she reached the army camps in Beit Nabala, heavy fire was fired at her by a unit of the Arab Legion that was there. In this battle fell. Haim was laid to rest in the military cemetery at Nahalat Yitzhak.
