Goldberger, Zalman


Son of Shoshana and Jacob. He was born on May 5, 1921 in Batei Ungarin in Jerusalem. At a young age, he studied in the cheder and later moved to the Tachkemoni school. Eventually, the family moved to Moshav Neve Yaakov, a village founded by ultra-Orthodox Jews from Jerusalem, who took their lives to work the land and build a farm. He was a guard in the moshav, and during the 1936-1939 events he stood overnight guarding the moshav. He fell in battle on June 7, 1944 in Australia, and was buried in an military cemetery. After the establishment of the State of Israel, his bones were brought to Israel and he was buried in the Sanhedria cemetery in Jerusalem.
