Goldberg, Yaakov (Jacques)
Son of Tzirel (Tzila) and Ephraim was born on 12.1.1913 in the city of Fulda, Germany, where he studied at the Gymnasium, the teachers’ seminary, and the conservatories of music. With the cost of the Nazi party to power in Germany he went to training in Luxembourg and in August 1936 he immigrated to Israel and settled in Haifa, where he found a driver and a veteran member of the Haganah. Risked his life to save the property and goods of many Jews and transfer them to safety Because he also lived in an Arab environment and his property was in danger of being destroyed or robbed, and when he came home from rescuing the property of others, he found himself destitute, and helped the children of Mishmar HaEmek under the fire of the enemy. And participated in the Battle of Lubia. On May 11, 1948, as he was leaving the convoy to the Upper Galilee, he was killed in a road accident near Rosh Pinna and was brought to the eternal military cemetery in Haifa.
