Goldberg, Shmuel
Son of Shifra and Jacob, was born on April 1, 1920 in Jerusalem and graduated with honors from the Hebrew Gymnasium in the city. Shmuel continued his studies at the university in the Department of Humanities and at the same time studied at home He was an active member of the Maccabi sports club in Jerusalem, excelled at and taught in athletics, and his strong, tall, muscular and strong body structure , He was able to withstand all kinds of damage, and in the meantime the Second World War broke out, and he, as soon as he arrived After graduating from the War of Independence, he joined the Irgun underground and the defenders of Jerusalem, where he joined the British Air Force in 1943, where he served as a sergeant. He was among the defenders of the PAGI houses in the Sanhedria neighborhood on May 22, 1948. He participated in a sabotage operation in the area between the police school and the PIJ houses, where he died in the jeep, He traveled with his two friends, on a mine. He was buried in Sheikh Bader A. On the 6th of Elul 5711 (September 19, 1951) he was transferred to the eternal military cemetery at Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
