Golan, Yehuda


Son of Binyamin and Kochba. Born in Tel Aviv on December 10, 1940. His parents were killed in the War of Independence on the Jaffa-Tel Aviv border, and Judah, his brother and sister were dispersed to various farms. He arrived at Golata, where he was adopted by a family member of the kibbutz, where he graduated from high school and was accepted as a member of the kibbutz in 1958. He liked sports and also liked music, was drafted into the IDF in November 1958 and served in the army As an armored officer. After returning home he served as a work center in the cotton fields, but he went to reserve duty. He fell in an armor battle near the village of Ya’bad in the Jenin area on the 27th of Iyar 5727 (June 6, 1967), the second day of the battles. He was buried in the military cemetery in Afula and later moved to eternal rest in the cemetery in Hulata. He was promoted to lieutenant after they fell. In “Thirty” to his death, Kibbutz Hulata published a booklet in his memory (and the memory of Shlomo Malachi). The kibbutz also published a pamphlet in memory of the two of them called “In the bundle of life”. His name was mentioned in the booklet “Barak”, published by his comrades in arms. Even in the book “The People of Steel” by Aviezer Golan, his name was mentioned. Hakibbutz Hameuchad’s booklet “Who Fell in the War” was mentioned. In Volume 4 of “Goily Ash”, the bag of the estate of the sons who fell in Israel’s wars, was brought from his estate.
