Golan, Ronen

Son of Miriam and Shlomo. He was born on the 16th of Sivan 5727 (24.6.1967) in Moshav Tnuvot. He began his studies at the Tnuvot religious elementary school, and graduated from the high school at the Hodayat Youth Village, where he was certified as a car mechanic. Ronen was a member of the working and learning youth movement of the moshavim, and volunteered to help as much as was required. A healthy child, full of joy, enthusiastic, surrounded by a warm and loving family. Sometimes he was shy and timid. At the beginning of August 1985, Ronen was drafted into compulsory military service in the IDF and went on basic training, but twelve days later, on 18.8.1985, he fell during his service and was laid to rest at the military cemetery in Netanya. Survived by his parents, three brothers – Eliyahu, Guy and Yaron, and a sister – Sarit. In a passage that was written in his memory by his family, it was said: “… the Lev aches and the soul yearns to see your face and enjoy your eyes.” / Your big eyes seemed to laugh at themselves / And affectionately, when you first came in uniform, a sense of pride throbbed in our midst. / The blow is not long to come / And since then we could not get up, and erect our backs, / And the space created is deepening “
