Gofer, Reuven
Son of Shmuel and Esther. He was born on January 24, 1933 in Tel Aviv. He completed his elementary studies at the “Center” school and then completed his studies at the Municipal High School. He studied at the Hebrew University of Haifa in the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and was awarded the B.Sc. He then paid in the United States. He was very fond of photography but found his livelihood as an engineer and manager of a cable factory. He was drafted into the IDF in July 1950. After completing his regular army service, he took part in the Sinai Campaign and at the outbreak of the Six-Day War he was again in reserve duty, with the rank of captain next to Kibbutz Be’eri on the 27th of Iyar 5727 ), Was the second day of the battles, fell on his way to obtain ammunition and fuel for the fighters who needed them, for he was an officer with great responsibility … He was buried in the military cemetery in Bari and later moved to the eternal rest of the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul Several pages are dedicated to his memory and his image in the book “Yad LaNovelim – Bnei Ashkelon” published by the municipality.
