Goel, Ephraim (“Effie”)


Ephraim, son of Moshe and Dina Goel, was born in the city of Shiraz in Iran on April 24, 1944, he immigrated to Israel in 1951. He completed his studies at the “Or Yehuda” elementary school and went on to a vocational high school in the name of ” In Tel Aviv, he was a member of the Hanoar Haoved movement, and in his favorite profession (electronics), he worked in the field of leisure, and after a military service in August 1962 he worked in radar electronics. After the Six-Day War, on the 14th of Tammuz 5727 (July 14, 1967), he fell while serving a mine 30 kilometers south of Be’erotim and was brought to rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul, Ephraim’s last mission was a continuation of his blessed work over the past few years, in which he made a valuable contribution to the security and victory of the IDF in the Six-Day War. The Gordon Elementary School in Holon established a library in his honor. An electronic laboratory was also established in his place of work and a booklet in his memory was published by his friends
