Goddard, Yirmiyahu


Son of Nechama and Mordechai Ze’ev. Born in 1913 in Jerusalem, he studied at the Tel-Nordoi Elementary School in Tel Aviv and was a member of “Maccabi” in Tel Aviv and was sent to the children’s village in Givat Hamoreh, near Afula. After completing his studies, he returned to Tel Aviv, where he worked as a clerk in his father’s office. In August 1938 he accepted the call of Yishuv institutions and volunteered to guard the area of ​​Gan Hashomron near Karkur. He was severely injured by Arab shots and was brought to Beilinson Hospital. On the following day, on September 15, 1938, died of his wounds and was laid to rest in Nahalat Yitzhak.
