Gluzman, Hans
Son of Miriam and Hirsch, was born on December 22, 1923 in the city of Duisburg, Germany. In her escape from the Nazi takeover, the family moved to the city of Charleroi, Belgium, where Hans graduated from a public school and then studied trade and worked in a ladies’ salon. During the German occupation of World War II he was active in the underground against the Germans in Belgium and across the French border. After the war he returned to his work and was active in the Jewish National Youth as deputy chairman of the Maccabee movement in his city. In 1948 he volunteered for the Israel War, arrived in Israel in a convoy of Machal and served in the Palmach Harel Brigade. Hans fell in a battle in Deir-Ibn on the 29th of Elul 5708 (29.9.1948) and was brought to rest at the military cemetery in Kiryat Anavim.
