Gluck, D.
During World War I he lived in London, England, where he volunteered for the Jewish Legion – the 38th Battalion of King’s Slugs – which was established in the framework of the British Army. Together with the battalion, he arrived in Eretz Israel in order to participate in the conquest of the Turks. He fought in the hills of Shekhem and in battle over the Jordan passes. On the 17th of Kislev, 17.11.1918, he died while carrying out his duties. His memory was commemorated in “The Book of Recognition for British Jewry 1914-1918” and in the “Battalion House” in Avihail. An investigation conducted in 2017 revealed that his resting place was located in the military cemetery in Cairo, Egypt. His first name is David. Grading location cP.160 Age 41 cPrivate rank
