Glaz, Aryeh
Son of Haim and Mania. He was born on 10/27/1944 in Haifa and completed his studies in an elementary school there, and because he was interested in vocational subjects, he decided to study in a vocational school, so he went on to study at the Technion Technical School and was interested in electronics. He was a member of the United Movement and loved to go on trips and work camps, and especially with his friends from childhood, to whom he was very close, full of life, loved to sing and dance, was always involved in social life and always wanted to contribute to it. He was inclined to compromise, but at the same time he knew how to convince his adversary of his sharp intellect, He was helping his mother with housework by saying, “I’m still young!” After graduating from high school, he had a choice: enlisting in the army or continuing his studies at the Hebrew Technion within the framework of the academic reserve, But he chose the first way, even though there were those who tried to influence him to choose the second, he and his parents were always ready to do their duty – and in August 1962 he entered the ranks of the IDF and when he completed his basic training period he studied electronics, About any secret – not only in terms of security, but also of his desire to maintain the peace of mind of his worried mother. He knew how to overcome all kinds of difficulties through physical and mental exertion. On the 11th of Av 5723 (August 11, 1963) he fell while fulfilling his duties and was brought to eternal rest in the military cemetery in Haifa. At the elementary school he studied, a board was set up in his memory at the initiative of the principal, and his picture is next to the blackboard and the candle is always next to the picture.
