Glaser, John
Son of Philip and Annie. Was born on July 14, 1950 in Leiden, Holland, where he completed his elementary studies. His family immigrated to Israel in 1964. Yohanan attended the high school in Safed. He was interested in the Scouts movement and joined it and was active in it in the field of guidance. He was an athlete, loved to play tennis and sometimes took part in the Sea of Galilee. He played the clarinet and the harmonica well and liked to travel around the country. Yochanan was conscripted into the IDF in August 1969 and volunteered to serve in the Israel Air Force on October 29, 1969, when he was sent to rest in the field of Nehemiah. His friends, that Yochanan fell in his early days and on the verge of realizing his dream in the air force. “I regret that I did not get to know him. From conversations with his friends I had the image of a talented boy who was very devoted to his family and his country.
