Gladkov, Alex (Alexey)

Irena and Alexander’s youngest son. He was born on the 6th of Sivan, 5762 (1962) in Odessa, Ukraine. A fireplace for the marina. A cute and mischievous boy – “Loshinka,” his father fondly called him, because he was as sweet as a child. In the first year of his life, Alex’s family moved from the Black Sea coast town to Leningrad, Russia, and from there, after his father was appointed captain, they traveled to distant and cold Kamchatka. Every summer the parents took Alex and his sister to visit the grandmothers-in Odessa or Leningrad, and occasionally went sailing on the father’s boat. Alex was four years old when his father was killed in an accident. Shortly after the disaster, the mother and her children left Kamchatka and moved to St. Petersburg, where the mother was born. Days passed, and the little family learned to deal with the loss and the continuation of her life. Alex was a gifted child who by the age of four was reading books fluently. When it was time to move to first grade it became clear that there was no room left in the class, and Alex was given a hard exam to check his suitability for second grade. He managed to utter all the difficult words he was asked to say, and he admired the examiners. Alex was intelligent, but innocent. One day, his mother says, he did a barter with a friend; he handed the friend a gold medallion in his possession for a simple coin; A few days later, the friend’s grandmother telephoned Irena to say she had found the medallion. Alex did not even understand the value of the gold he changed … When Alex was eight years old, he took part in a fencing class. He had shown talent in the field, but the industry he began to specialize in was swimming; As the son of a mother from a swimming coach by profession, he became an outstanding swimmer. In 1993, when he was eleven years old, Alex immigrated to Israel with his mother and sister. The absorption was not easy – the environment, the language, the climate, and so on – everything had to be relearned, but over time the family acquired friends and friends, learned Hebrew, and began to feel love and connection to the state. Alex’s first school in Israel was “Dinur” in Holon, where he studied in grades 4 through 7. At the same time, he continued to practice swimming. The family then moved to the Negev and settled in Be’er Sheva, where Alex swam within the framework of the Hapoel Be’er Sheva club. In the eighth grade he studied in Kibbutz Mashavei Sadeh, and for a certain period stayed and studied at Midreshet Sde Boker. As a gifted and outstanding student, he was suitable to study at the Boyer High School in Jerusalem, where he is highly qualified and chose to move there and live in a boarding school. With the move to Jerusalem, Alex was forced to give up his swimming achievements, but found new hobbies: basketball, computers, English and stamp collection – a remnant of his former life in Russia. Basketball became an integral part of Alex’s life, and he turned out to be a talented basketball player. When he was not practicing, he sat in front of the computer, studied Razio, and became the number one expert on the computers of the boarding school and school, and the computer room administrator. In the boarding school – among his group – the “Dolev” group and at school – Alex stood out for his great wisdom and cleverness, and yet there was not a trace of condescension. His Hebrew was perfect and unfocused, as the members of the yearbook wrote: “Alex has beautiful blond hair that was once long and smooth and today he is smooth and thorny and sometimes orange, despite his pure Russian origin, Alex does not have an accent and if you meet him on the street and do not know his name, To think he’s just another Swede. ” Alex’s years at Boyer were years of blossoming and blooming; The charm and charm he enjoyed and his sweeping natural leadership captured the hearts of all the residents of the school and the boarding school. Surrounded by many friends, Alex’s days and nights were full of sporting, social and educational activities. Alex knew how to enjoy life, and according to his friends, he was a music lover and a devoted party. “From Metallica andUntil the new Aussies – Alex is dancing around the dance floor – his friends described Alex’s easy and flowing side, and Alex also developed his athletic abilities and took part in the Jerusalem marathon. An outstanding student was Alex, determined and determined to express his unequivocal opinion in a short and clear manner, but also a mischievous little rebel. His teacher, Tamar Segal, says: “… and again Alex sits between me and his mother, Irena, in one of those frequent moral conversations I used to summon to tell Alex the well-known sayings, ‘Alex, you do not realize your potential’ or ‘ Alex, if you make a little effort, your achievements in school will rise wonderfully, and Alex smiled a smile that says, ‘After all, we all know in this room that there is no point in talking so much. After all, I and I alone decide on my life and my way’ – a smile that has softened the heart And enter the soul … “Alex graduated summa cum laude from physics and computers. At the end of the 12th grade, he said goodbye to his good friends in the boarding school he had as brothers on the list he wrote: “There, under the burning rays of loneliness, among the gray clouds of hypocrisy, surrounded by the hardships forests, stands Herr Dolev. A mountain that rose from the depths of the earth six years ago and since then has only been growing, growing stronger. Many of the evil forces tried to disintegrate this mountain, trying to prevent it from aspiring upward; There were the longings and sadness, the departures, the rebellions, the frustration and the weeping, but Herr Dolev remained standing high above his surroundings, proudly raising his peak. Mount Dolev managed to win the whole, because of love, unity, and paranoia, everything – except the end, the inevitable end, the shattering, dismantling and dispersing the solid mountain all over the world, in the form of small stones. These stones will roll everywhere, in search of something to catch, the ghosts of time will lead each way in another direction, the rivers of oblivion will sweep them into various parts of the earth. So Dolev, we can only hope that the comrades will maintain contact between us, and that no one of the Dolev stones will ever be found alone. I love you very much. “Alex’s strong connection to the state and the desire to defend it were at the basis of his decision to volunteer for an elite unit in the Israel Defense Forces, despite the fact that as a fatherless orphan, he could serve as a rearguard. Marina, his sister, says: “He decided on this when he was in high school, and there was no way to influence him to change his decision, and we were proud of everything he did, and in this decision as well.” Alex wanted very much to enlist in the naval commando and was even accepted to form the “naval commando”, but since all his friends failed there, he decided that he did not want to go on alone and waited for the recruitment round for the Givati Brigade. Alex joined Givati on March 13, 2001, and began his arduous combat path. He stood out above his friends in his physical and mental capacity, and as an outstanding soldier he was the first to receive the purple robe. At the end of the tour, he was posted as a combat soldier in the brigade’s regiment, and served with his friends at the Dugit outpost in the northern Gaza Strip on routine defense and security missions in northern Gush Katif. “Alex was an excellent, professional and skilled fighter, who always aspired to learn more and more and to excel in his field,” said his commander, who became one of the pillars of the team. He did his job responsibly and devotedly, taking deep thought before carrying out his mission. His personal charm, his occupying smile and the skills of his leadership, Alex acquired many friends and created a pleasant and sympathetic atmosphere around him. “His hand was always extended, affectionately and gracefully,The period of Alex’s service in the Gaza Strip was characterized by considerable security tension against the background of the al-Aqsa intifada (the “tidal wave”) and the many acts of terror that swept the country, and the Givati units were the spearhead in the offensive fighting against the terrorists Around the Gaza Strip Alex and his friends took part in incidents with terrorists, thwarted many terrorist attacks and captured senior wanted men Alex was among the leaders, without hesitation or fear, and received an impressive opinion from his commanders A few days before his scheduled departure for the Commanders Course, On June 15, 2002, Alex fell in a battle near Dugit. In the morning, intelligence information was received about terrorists planning to carry out an attack against IDF soldiers or settlers in the northern Gaza Strip, and shortly before 8:00 PM, a few hundred meters south of Sinai and Dugit, the encounter occurred. Alex was the first to locate the enemy, and stormed in front of everyone, and during the exchanges of fire that developed, he was hit by a bullet that penetrated the flak jackets he was wearing. His teammate, Sergeant Hezki Gutman, was killed. The company’s deputy commander, Captain Anatoly Karasik, was seriously injured and died of his injuries after a week or so. Three more soldiers were wounded. The body of a terrorist was found at the scene, but his friends managed to escape. Hamas took responsibility for the action. In the act in which he sacrificed his life, Alex and his friends prevented serious harm to the citizens of the state. Shortly before the incident, the fighters prevented a major attack when they found and detonated a car bomb that contained explosives weighing one hundred and eighty kilograms, which could have caused a severe disaster. Alex, who celebrated his 20th birthday just a week before his fall, was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Be’er Sheva. He was followed by a mother and a sister. After his fall he was promoted to sergeant. In his letter of consolation to the family, Lt. Col. Ron Ashrov, the unit’s commander, wrote: “From the very beginning of his career in the army, Alex has been shown to have special material, a man without many like him, who has had impressive achievements. With his strong and special leadership, Alex was one of the pillars of a high-quality team that was meant to be together, to fight together and to strive first for contact with the enemy. So Alex was head of the team, even on the day of the encounter. Without fear and fear, he tracked down the enemy, ran ahead to carry out the mission, fought valiantly and heroically and showed great courage. Alex was a superior man, a born leader, who was an example to all the soldiers of the unit. As a future commander and pain, I can only be proud of Alex and hope that I will raise a model child like him – a brave warrior, a leader in every field, serious and mature, who can take any responsibility, however great. … We, the commanders of the ‘Crow’ Company and its soldiers salute Alex. “Five months after his fall, an evening was held at the Boyar boarding school in memory of Alex, and his teacher, Tamar Segal, said:” Alex was one of those students who are etched in the memory of teachers. … Even his death in battle, in a brave and uncompromising assault on the terrorists who threaten our security, continued the way of life that characterized him – a path of heroism, a way of doing for the public, a path of courage and determination. … The seal that he left us, his beliefs and hopes, his willingness to follow the path he believed to end – to the end of his life, became a command for us – a command to continue along the common path. Alex ‘s will was ours when he was with us. “Alex’ s friend from the Boyar boarding school, Shai Zamir, said goodbye to him on the list:” Two years have passed in the magical realm and Herr Dolev is gone. There are some beautiful green hills here, but the solid crumbling mountain left a large depression in the ground. As aThe mountain was indeed shattered by the inevitable end, and the dozens of stones that made up it were dispersed throughout the landscape of reality. Some of them chose to brave the steep and dangerous valleys, some of them stopped in the flat area and decided to enjoy the comfortable conditions. There are even a few stones that wanted to roll so far that they forgot at all from the other stones. One day something terrible happened. One of the stones, not long ago painted purple, rolled in an area too dangerous. She knew how dangerous it was, but that brilliant stone, charming in its beauty, rolled with all its might knowing it was the right thing to do. … Since then, the rest of the stones have hurt the absence of the special stone taken. … the same stone that knew how to leap higher than the other stones. … With all the great pain, the other stones try to find solace in the knowledge that the charming stone has not been smashed. She was simply moved to a distant and unknown place. The same place where all the best and most beautiful stones are kept. … a stone that rolled along every stone, regardless of its shape or what all the stones thought of it. A stone that would roll so far, in the highest places, if only it would continue to roll. … The other stones, which once completed Mount Eitan, will continue to roll in different directions. But never, never will they forget that magical stone that was part of them, a stone so lacking … “
