Givon (Bilbul), David
Son of Naim and Georgette. He was born in 1948 in Baghdad, the capital of Iraq, and his family immigrated to Israel in 1951. He studied at the elementary school in Bnei Brak and at Mevo’ot Yam High School in Mikhmoret, where he was active in the Gadna, Who joined the Hanoar Haoved movement and was not active in the life of the nest for various reasons. He was drafted into the IDF in May 1966 and volunteered to serve in the paratroopers, but on the day of his induction he encountered the first disappointment: Due to his training as a naval school graduate, David was sent automatically to the navy. One of the officers invited him to a conversation and explained that if he wanted to move from unit to unit he had to submit a transfer request according to the usual procedure, and from then on he began working to get him to the paratroopers, but nothing helped, so he volunteered for the naval commando, After eight months, he began his service as a freshman in the paratroopers David, who underwent a rapid parachuting course, was excited and full of experiences, when his company had to go south, toward the border, committed a crime and was punished as a punishment for staying and guarding the camp. On the 11th of Tishrei 5731 (October 11, 1970), about one month before his wedding, he fell while performing his duties in the Jordan Valley. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul.
