Gingold, Ronen-Yosef


Son of Adina and Yeshayahu, was born in Kfar Saba on January 25, 1961. Ronen attended the Itamar Elementary School in Netanya, and after completing eight grades, he moved to ORT school in Netanya and completed his studies in electronics. 1979 Ronen enlisted in the IDF, and after undergoing basic training, he completed several professional courses in various fields of communications and electronics. In September 1980, he began to serve as a liaison officer in the navy and was promoted to the rank of corporal, who was outstanding in his work and progressed there, and in July 1981 he was promoted to the rank of sergeant. He married and built his home in Kfar Sava. In November 1982, he began serving in the career army. At the end of March 1983 Ronen went on a honeymoon journey to Europe with his wife, brother and sister-in-law. On April 12, 1983, as they stood in a convoy of cars near the city of Cologne, Germany, an accident occurred in which Ronen, his wife and his sister-in-law were killed. His brother was seriously injured in an accident. A week later, the coffins of the three dead were flown to Israel and laid to rest in the graveyard of veteran housing in Netanya. Ronen was 22 years old when he died. He left behind his parents and brother. After his death, he was promoted to the rank of sergeant.
