Gilboa (Goldberg), Daniel (“Danny”)

Son of Haim and Deborah. He was born on the 14th of Adar 5702 (13.3.1942) in Tel Aviv and attended elementary school and high school in Kfar Menachem. He was a member of the Hashomer Hatzair movement, was very active in it and did much in his short life. Danny was a leader in the movement and then head of “Ken”. After the Six-Day War he continued on an organizational educational mission of the Hashomer Hatzair movement in England as head of a “nest.” He spent two years in London and in this action, which required great devotion under difficult conditions, Daniel found a wide range of his qualities and expression of his talents. He excelled in devotion and love to his family. After returning home with his family after the mission, Daniel enlisted, without being rushed, for the difficult task of the young brigade secretary, but not for long. In the middle of his tenure, Daniel was elected kibbutz secretary. On his shoulders was the burden of a multi-age kibbutz on all his problems. His personal human approach, his quiet, friendly conversation, the charming smile, the honest look of his eyes and the preservation of basic principles of his outlook all helped Daniel to carry out the task assigned to him by the kibbutz. He did all his actions seriously and diligently and with a desire for perfection. Danny was drafted into the IDF at the end of July 1961 and decided to join the Nahal Brigade, because he wanted to work with youth aimed at fulfilling kibbutz life, but eventually joined the Sayeret Armor. As usual, he fulfilled every role and task with devotion and perfection. In his life, Daniel fulfilled his “positive commandment” in his work, in the IDF, in the shlichut, in the kibbutz and in society, and after his discharge from military service he was called for periods of reserve service. 1970), fell in the line of duty and was put to rest in the cemetery in Kfar Menachem. He left a wife and two daughters. In November 1970, the Kfar Menachem Newsletter was published. In November 1972, a booklet was published in the form of an album in his memory entitled “Circles to Danny”.
