Giladi, Avihu
Avihu, son of Gita and Nachman, was born on 19 August 1949 in Kfar Giladi. Avihu was drafted into the IDF in early November 1967 and assigned to the Armored Corps. In the course of his service, he completed a tank course, tank artillery course, tank commander course, officers ‘course, and officers’ training course. At the beginning of November 1970, Avihu completed his compulsory service and went to an electronics technician’s course at the ORT school in Netanya. On Yom Kippur Eve, Avihu was engaged in carrying out earthworks on security roads in the Golan Heights. The kibbutz members saw the flow of troops to the Golan Heights, and at noon his reading order was received. At the end of the war, Avihu fought as a company commander in the northern front Gad Syrians. He fought alongside the deputy battalion commander and with them a small number of tanks On October 8, 1973, Avihu fell in battle and he was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery of Kfar Giladi, leaving behind a wife, daughter, father, mother and two brothers. After his death, he was promoted to the rank of Captain.
