Ghanem, Zahi

Zahi, son of Hiam and Vadea Ghanem, was born in 1990 in Safed and grew up in Sajur, north of Karmiel. He served in the air force, completed basic training as a company commander, and continued on to UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles), after which he was assigned to the Palmachim Squadron, which operates a UAV. At the end of compulsory service, Zahi continued to serve in the permanent army, was sent to a quality assurance course, and was successfully appointed to the rank of First Sergeant. He planned to advance to the officers’ course. Zahi was killed in a traffic accident on 10.10.2013 at the age of twenty-three and was buried in the cemetery in Sajur. Survived by parents, four brothers and a sister.
