Geva, Yiftach

Geva, Yiftach

Son of Michal and Tani. He was born on August 28, 1978 in Kibbutz Dorot. At the end of November 1996, he volunteered to serve in the Paratroopers Brigade, and he passed the difficult track with great success, and was given the heavy task of a machine gunner, who required him to carry heavy weight. Yiftach served in Lebanon and was involved in routine security operations, and despite his difficult assignments. Yiftach received much praise for his work in Lebanon from all his commanders and friends. His friends called him the “ideal parachutist,” and his commander described him as a diligent, honest, serious soldier with outstanding internal strength. When he got home on vacation, he was tired from going to the brigade commanders’ course. He fell asleep in his room before he could extinguish the heater and died in his sleep due to a technical malfunction in the oven, on the ninth of Shevat 5758 (January 4, 1998), leaving his parents, two brothers and a sister.
