Gerber, Shmuel

Son of Moshe and Rachel. Born in 1927 in the city of Berezne, Poland, the family moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he graduated from high school and studied at the medical school for two years, but when the state came to an end he decided to immigrate to Israel. On the day of the 25th of Kislev 5713 (23.11.1952), Shmuel went on a boat with six other soldiers to fill a special position, and the seven did not return to the base. Later, the IDF declared them missing, and a memorial monument was erected in the missing section of the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
