Gendelman, Shalom (Shonia)


Son of Shmuel and Hannah. He was born on December 12, 1925 in the city of Rokitno, Poland. He studied at the “Tarbut” school in his city. In 1941 the family fled to Russia, and two years later, when his father died, Shalom received work in an ammunition factory in Perggens, Central Asia, and in 1945 he was drafted into the Red Army and released later He returned to Poland with his sister and mother in 1948. After his sister and mother emigrated from Poland to Argentina, he was also granted an entry permit there, but he refused and immigrated to Israel (in 1949) via France. To the IDF. On December 31, 1950, he died in his illness and was brought to eternal rest in the Netanya military cemetery.
