Gelber, Moritz, Dr.

Son of Zvi and Sarah. Born in the city of Edzwe, Romania, on 18 May 1911, he completed his medical studies at the University of Paris and specialized in child care, immigrated to Israel in 1944. He was drafted into the IDF in September 1948 and participated in the War of Independence. In the course of his duty in the reserve service, he was wounded and after being transferred to the hospital, he died of his wounds. This was on the 24th of Mershvan 5707 (November 9, 1955). He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul. He left behind a wife.
