Geiger, Haim (“Curly”)


Son of Arthur and Lydia. He was born on July 4, 1947 in Romania, where he studied in an elementary school. In April 1961, he immigrated to Israel with his family. When Haim was 14, he was sent by Youth Aliyah to a group of guards and there, while working in tractors, his love for mechanics developed. His cousin David Dorban, who was his mathematics teacher, wrote in his memory and noted that “even complicated problems would come up with enthusiasm that necessarily caused disorder in thought.” But, David noted, , “The final solution was always clean and accurate.
