Geffen, Yedidya


Yedidya, son of Sheindel Sima (Simone) and Aharon Geffen, was born in Jerusalem in 1979. In March 1998, he enlisted in the IDF, but despite the fact that he was accepted to the academic reserve, he chose to join Givati ​​and serve as a combat paramedic. Yedidya served in the Givati ​​Brigade as a combat medic in the sabotage unit of the battalion’s battalion company, which was stationed at the Karkum post, where he served as a medic in the Givati ​​Brigade. He fell in the course of his duties on February 6, 2000, during a routine operation near the Karkum post in Lebanon, a bomb was detonated against the Givati ​​force, where Yedidya served as a paramedic. He was laid to rest at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem and is twenty years old. Survived by his parents, three sisters and a brother.
