Gefen, Chaim

Chaim, the only son of Avraham and Rivkah Gefen, was born on April 15, 1942 in Buenos Aires, capital of Argentina. His parents, veteran Zionists, immigrated to Israel at the time of the establishment of the state together with their only son. On the eve of the Six-Day War, he was called to serve and fought in the battle of Umm Kataf in Sinai, which took place on the second day of the battles. He was severely wounded by a shell that exploded in a burning truck and he died on 27 Iyar, 6.6.1967.
