Garbowski, Ido

Garbowski, Ido

Ben Aviva and Avshalom. The eldest brother to the bar. He was born on 20 December 1985 in the Hararit settlement in the Galilee, where he moved to Kibbutz Mashabei Sadeh in the Negev, where Ido began his studies at the “Mashavim” elementary school. He grew up in the elementary school of “Afek”, in the “Gvanim” junior high school, and at the “Begin” high school, and for two years he was active in the “HaOgen” tribe of the Scouts movement. His personal commitment, in grades 10-11, was devoted to volunteer activity in the Civil Guard. He enjoyed the great responsibility that was placed on his shoulders and even received an “outstanding volunteer” certificate. Freedom – this was the supreme and sacred value for Ido, and according to it was conducted. Already when he learned to crawl, his mother says, at the age of six months, crawled alone about fifty meters to the house of grandparents. He went to the garden alone, at his own pace, and was impressed by the sights of nature and flowers. The sea was one of Ido’s great lovers, and reflected his yearning for freedom and independence. At sea, Ido used to say, he finds his peace of mind. Ido loved to sit alone on the beach in Apollonia, in front of the waves, with himself and his thoughts and a bottle of beer in his hand, and if there were high waves, he would ski with all the guys. As a bird, Ido was always looking for a way to get free, so in the classroom, if he showed up for a lesson, his eyes and head were subject to what was happening outside, and in fact he did everything to “fly” out literally … Ido loved to be thrown in the Sinai, Without telephones and no current affairs, only he, the friends he loved, and lots of quiet. Another hobby he developed was riding horses, and for about four years rode with his brother Bar at the horse farm “Itzerobel”, under the guidance of Oz Shapira. Ido loved the simplicity, the natural, and the clean, naked truth, devoid of lies and masks. Ido had all the cards on the table, and he took the habit of saying all that was in his mind and thoughts. Ido’s way of life was based on a strong inner truth, and he never needed permits or reinforcement. He chose the paths he chose alone; He did not consult much, and he always knew what was good and what was right for him. Ido’s source of strength and source of pride was his special relationship with his family, which was characterized by endless love, friendship, and generosity. Aviva, his mother, recognized Ido’s need to choose and decide for himself how to act, allowed him all the freedom he needed, tried not to impose anything on him but recommended, and carefully instructed him to choose the most appropriate paths for him. Ido has been blessed with infinite love, and has won a network of security and support in case he errs or stumbles. Ido, for his part, trusted his mother and knew he could tell her everything, that she would always receive him, understand and love. With his father Ido had a relationship of courageous and extraordinary friendship. The two went on joint trips in Israel, spoke openly and shared experiences. Bar, the younger brother, relates that Ido was a protective and caring brother who showed self-sacrifice, always advised, he did not hold a grudge, and especially loved him. As evidence, although each of the brothers had a room of his own, at night they would open a large old bed together, and on each birthday they prepared a table for each other with sweets. Ido was a happy man. He loved life, loved people, loved the country and knew every corner of it and was connected to nature. With his large innocent eyes and broad smile, Ido gave a carefree joy. Ido never pursued achievements and was far from competitive or rebellious. His motto, “Live and let live”, made his stay in his company a great pleasure. Ido was never alone, and at every stop he took he adopted new friends. He loved his friends the way they loved him, and he didTake every spare moment for entertainment, joy and pleasure as the dominant and leading figure. The music that Ido loved included Israeli songs and works like Aviv Geffen, but he also loved listening to Hebrew songs and songs of the Land of Israel, and appreciated the singing of Chani Livneh. Only in the last two years of high school did he open up to foreign music, and discovered the reggae and the black music that had only just begun to develop in Israel (Hatikva 6). The songs of Bob Marley merged well with the joy of simplicity, love, peace and freedom. These messages gave rise to Ido’s “we are free” flag, which became his trademark, and after his fall, became one of his ways of commemoration. The flag began at the end of high school, when the members prepared a flag from a sheet, painted in red-yellow-green colors of reggae music and Bob Marley. While they were waiting for the flag to dry, Ido called out: “We’re done high school, you get it, we’re free, we’re free, we’re free!” Following his statement, one of the members of the flag coined the words “We are free” that expressed the members’ belief in him – the freedom to choose life at any moment, absolute freedom. When the members left for Sinai, before the enlistment, the flag was hung on the “hushah” on the beach. Ido, the first to enlist in the group, declared that he was taking the flag with him to the army, and henceforth did not part with him. In his home, military heritage, values and principles were instilled in Ido. His father, a lieutenant colonel in the Armored Corps and a regiment of Battalion 9, was a partner in many operations and fought in the First Lebanon War as commander of the L Company, The IDF succeeded in arousing everything that his father had assimilated over the years: Ido aspired to be a soldier and when he was drafted into the IDF, on August 2, 2004, the 9th Battalion and the same company, the Lahav Company, His father is a commander. From the time of Khalil, Iddo changed completely. He became orderly and organized, showed responsibility and professionalism, and was greatly admired by his commanders and friends. Ido stood out for leadership, caring, independent opinions, and determination to help everyone. He also took upon himself to absorb the young soldiers in the company and set them tasks. “Ido was the hottest person in the company – always walking around with a smile on his face, funny, loving, taking care of friends, a quiet leader who does not fight for leadership, but acquires it in his character and actions. Ido’s friends talk about the happiness, joy and excitement that came to his face when he received the rank of sergeant and was awarded the title of “mm 4” – “officer” of the soldiers “- a practice whereby when young soldiers arrive in the company, one veteran serves as a” fourth officer. ” The tradition of Ido’s and his father’s joint walks continued now, and at every opportunity the two were in a good mood, The last jeep trip, during the Passover holiday, was from Sde Boker to the Dead Sea, and throughout his service was Ido’s flagship Maude, a part of his essence, went through the whole route with him: in every order, on the tank, in the barracks, in the company tent and in the guard posts, it was a sign that even Ido was a free and happy man. A regular in the company commander’s tank team. With this team, Ido went to the Second Lebanon War, from which he did not return. Ido was killed in a battle in southern Lebanon on Saturday, August 18, 2006, during one of the most difficult battles of the war,He was accompanied by his captain, Captain Shai Bernstein, and his teammate Staff Sergeant Amasa Meshulmi, and another member of the team was injured, and after the war the four received a commendation from the commander of the 162. Division. During the fighting, Grabowski served as a tank commander, Captain Shai Bernstein. First Sergeant Ido was an independent officer in the tank and was involved in several battles in these villages: Merkava, Telosa and Majdal Salim where he and his crew killed several terrorists. On the afternoon of Saturday, when the tank of the company commander climbed on the axis leading up to the outskirts of Ghandouriya, the vehicle collapsed behind the company commander’s tank and the company commander and the rest of the company formed a detachment. Follow him. The team operated independently while the company commander was busy fighting in an attempt to search for an axle and rescue a 2 mm tank that had been stuck nearby. First Sergeant Ido, as he did during all weeks of fighting, searched independently, found targets and reported to the company commander about his findings even when he realized that the company’s tanks were being hit … Sergeant Ido Grabowski displayed a fighting spirit, initiative, courage under fire, Coolness and independence. ” In a lengthy and complex rescue operation under heavy fire, Ido and Amasa were critically wounded in an olive grove, where they died of their wounds. Ido’s parents describe what they heard from his comrades in the company about his last moments: “Ido gave a deep breath and his friends shouted, ‘Grabowski, we love you.'” Ido was twenty years old when he fell. He was laid to rest in the military section of the Rosh Ha’ayin cemetery. Survived by parents and brother. After his fall, he was promoted to First Sergeant. Iddo’s commander eulogized him, saying, “I salute you first as a man who always offered help to every man, you knew how to encourage your comrades in the company and you were ready for any mission you were given. You were an outstanding soldier and loved what you did.” “I never thought that anything could separate us … I will never forget how you cared for me when we were little children, how you kept and protected me, I always felt that our relationship as brothers and friends was a rare one. The love you radiated towards me is true love … Every moment you can become pleasure, I learn from you to live the moment and enjoy the pleasures of life … I feel safe when you are with me and you are with me all the time We are together forever You and I Ido Weber. ” “Ido Aviva Paz, the educator, said:” Since Ido’s work, and I am using the wonderful word that you wrote on your military locker, it is a wonderful word that, apart from its angelic context, is not a final word. I have written to them that they need to know how to put love above all else and not be afraid to say that they love, love you, Aviva. ” Shahar Ben-Aryeh, a member of the family, wrote and performed a poem in memory of Ido: “Dear beloved / Frida always hurts / Frida is always disappointing / especially when she is you / There is no one like you / You are in a place / much calmer / Happy / … just wish you a happy life / you will jump and grow and be happy / between angels / … / leaving the loneliness / leaving the emptiness / many hearts broken / we did not think you would die / like a flower picked before flowering / The heart stopped beating / In the second they said / ‘went another diamond’ / Ido … Ido … “The song was uploaded to the Internet, and appears at: http://tarot1.cafe.themarker.com/view.php?t=1002968. At the end of the war, Ido’s family was returned to his belongings, among them the flag. Ido’s family, which advocates “active commemoration”Founded the association “Ido Lid” which is dedicated to commemorating it in various factories. “An orchard of freedom” This is an olive grove in the Galilee – a natural hospitality complex built in the olive grove of his grandparents, Joseph and Abi Noa, between Yodfat and Hararit, symbolizing the continuity of life out of respect and love for nature and humanity. They planted the olives in the orchard exactly the year that Ido was born. Ido was very connected to the place he represented in his lifetime, his love for the land, the Galilee, the green landscape, the olive trees, the land and open skies, and symbolized freedom, happiness, space, family, friends and life. In the orchard there are consolidation activities for groups, educational projects and recruitment days for work in the orchard area. Car stickers and key chains with the slogan “We are free” were produced. Ido’s friends take the original flag for their travels around the world, and take pictures with him. The Afek school in Rosh Ha’ayin commemorated Ido in a “garden of freedom” – a community garden in which ecological crops are planted. The “Gvanim” junior high school runs a navigation run each year, and planted a tree in his memory and established a corner in his school named “Corner of Freedom”. The soldiers department at Hashomer Hashomer base adopted Ido and embarked on a journey in its wake, when the flag of freedom motivates them at moments of difficulty. For three years now we have been in different worlds, you are there and we are here … Today I am also three years old, three years old in a new life, the age at which you begin to speak clearly, to develop your self-identity, to develop To be curious, stubborn, to understand that we are all connected to each other and to rediscover the world, a world that has a language, but this language has no words … just a feeling … free chicken and happily floats above the puddle of mediocrity beyond birthdays and eternal life. We are both meeting now and we will meet in the future when we want it … Best of all, my beloved children, you are a king. ” From his love for the Lahav company, his father purchased flashlights for all the company’s soldiers, with the inscription “Ido’s Light.” “From our point of view,” he wrote, “the flashlight that symbolizes Ido and the light of his path can also illuminate our path and route us when the road is not so clear, to illuminate when you no longer see the light at the end of the tunnel and everything is dark. Ido’s pictures and the presentation of “Plantation of Freedom” appear on the website established in his memory, at http://www.idolaad.co.il/. In addition, a Facebook group named Ido Lid opened in his memory.
