Gaon (Gaian), David


Son of Shalom and Mazal. He was born on December 28, 1955. He completed his elementary studies at the Shalom School in Ramat Gan, where he lived, and later decided to study a profession and chose mechanical frameworks at the Torah School “After a year of study, he began to study aircraft maintenance, and after a while he realized that this profession did not satisfy him and he went to study mechanics at the Armored Corps boarding school, and David was a good-natured, pleasant and friendly boy. He was an amateur photographer and a nature lover, and on his trips around the country he combined his two hobbies and used to photograph sites and landscapes wherever he went. S. IDF in early February 1974 and was assigned to Force Armaments. After basic training, he was assigned to an armament unit and served as a mechanic. Was a great professional. In the assessments that his commanders wrote about him, it was customary to point out that he was an incomparable mechanic. Thanks to his knowledge and skill, he was quickly appointed to inspect a vehicle and moved quickly up the ranks. He was sent to a military driver’s course, and on professional tests he reached a professional level.10 He was a devoted and loving son of his parents, respected and respected them and cared for their welfare and well-being. When he came home on vacation, he used to bring flowers or gifts to the family. On the 28th of Av 5767 (12.8.1977), David fell while carrying out his duties in the Rafidim region of Sinai. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul. Survived by his parents, three brothers and four sisters. In a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, his commander wrote: “David was one of the pillars of the unit and served as a personal example to all his colleagues in everything related to carrying out missions and performing them in the best possible way. The spirit of volunteerism throbbed in him. He volunteered for a regular army with the knowledge and recognition that the state and the IDF needed excellent professionals, as he did during his army service, and his comrades, soldiers and commanders bitterly mourn the loss of David and share your sorrow.
