Ganz, Nachman
Nachman (Nachmi), son of Ahuva and Michael, was born on January 6, 1951, in Rehovot. Nachman was drafted into the IDF at the beginning of February 1969 And he volunteered for the Paratroopers Brigade, a glorious reconnaissance unit. He made great efforts to prove that he was worthy of being accepted into the Sayeret and to excel in it. After completing basic training, and after completing a parachuting course and a saboteurs course, he was placed as a tanker in a paratroopers unit that dealt with ambushes and marshes in the Jordan Valley. His discharge certificate was marked as “a diligent soldier dedicated to his work.” When he returned to civilian life, Nahmani began working in the Elektra and worked there until the war. Recently, he was very active in the youth club in Ramle, and on Saturday nights he organized social activities there and took care of everything. After completing his regular army service, he was assigned to reserve duty in a reconnaissance company of the paratroopers. When the Yom Kippur War broke out, Nachman was not summoned to report and found no rest for himself. He packed his things. And waited impatiently ready to leave. As soon as the order came, he showed up at the designated place, and as a saboteur he was attached to an engineering company and sent to the front in the Golan Heights. Or the day of Tishrei 5734 (October 12, 1973). Nachman came out with a motorized force on a half-track to perform a purification operation in the village of Khan Arnabeh, and on the way back, the half-track, which was loaded with explosives, hit Nachman and the other members of the force with him were hit and killed. He was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery in Ramle. Survived by his parents and brother. After his fall, he was promoted to sergeant.
