Gantz, Yoram


Son of-Shoshana and Yehuda, was born on July 5, 1962 in Ramat Gan, Yoram enlisted to the IDF. He was a metalworker by profession, so he could serve in the rear unit, but he preferred to follow in the footsteps of his father and brothers who served in the Golani Brigade. He also volunteered for the Golani infantry brigade. Yoram underwent basic training and a few professional courses until he was certified as a combat medic. Yoram was promoted to the rank of corporal in April 1982. He was pleased with his role as a paramedic, and served in the social activities of his unit and helped to organize the parties that took place there. On the first night of the war, on the 7th of Kislev, 5762 (December 1982), he was with his unit in a battle on a post north of the Beaufort fortress, While he was treating one of the victims himself and was injured by an explosion, but even when he was seriously wounded He was carried on a stretcher, one of the stretchers on a landmine exploded and Yoram was killed, and on June 10, 1982, Yoram was laid to rest in the military cemetery In Kiryat Shaul in Tel Aviv, he left behind his parents and brother Eyal.
