Ganor (Vaknar), Nehemiah

Nehemiah, son of Josephine and Solomon, was born on August 21, 1951. In the age of six, his family immigrated to Israel and settled in Jerusalem, where he studied at the elementary school near the Hebrew Gymnasium in Rehavia and continued his high school studies at the Hebrew Gymnasium, The real name of Nehemiah is a testimony to the symbol of life symbolized by the eldest son to the parents who lost their parents in the Holocaust Indeed, consolation for bereavement can be found only in new life.from childhood Nehemiah absorbed the love of Israel and the love of the Land of Israel. A young man, average height, with curls and green eyes, who liked to walk dressed in jeans and sandals, was a diligent student, He was an active member of the Hanoar Haoved Vehalomed youth movement, devoted himself to guiding young people in the movement and often wrote to the newsletter of the senior class. In his writings and writings, which were preserved by his parents, his great love for the land and his city of Jerusalem is evident and his complete faith in the right of the Jewish people to the land of Israel is revealed. Namchu’s devotion (as his friends fondly called him) had earned him many admirers for his friends in the movement and his students. And as he shared his experiences with his friends, they did not forget to share their experiences. Nehemiah was drafted into the IDF in mid-August 1969 and assigned to the Armored Corps, after completing basic training, was sent to the course of the Armored Corps and then continued his course in Armored Corps. He was a disciplined soldier and an excellent fighter. His commanders appreciated his meticulousness and his precision in carrying out the tasks assigned to him. He had a sense of responsibility and never left anything half-made. Everyone knew that Namchu could be trusted wholeheartedly. He was also an excellent professional and knew how to operate the tools entrusted to him, accurately and efficiently. As a loving and devoted son, he wrote many letters full of optimism and humor. He never forgot to mention the packages sent to him and with good humor he also knew how to remark gently, when he did not like the contents of the packages. A new world, full of promises for the future, was revealed to Nemchu after his regular service, when he began his studies at the Hebrew University in economics and international relations. The Jerusalem campus captured his Lev and his imagination. By being impulsive by nature, he soon became the living spirit among first-year students in the economics department. For the first time in his life, he felt the extent to which his studies served as a source of satisfaction and pleasure and immediately stood out as one of the brightest students in the circle. Since he was one of the few who took the course “Introduction to Economics”, which is the famous Achilles’ heel of the students of economics, there were many who needed his help in order to pass it successfully. Namcheo never refused to help and spent many hours explaining the complicated issues to his friends, who could not overcome them on their own. However, despite the high school load, Namchu did not neglect his activities outside the campus. He loved playing table tennis and chess. He also became interested in politics and went to regular meetings of fans in a party’s party. Ten days before the outbreak of the Yom Kippur War, Namchu served in the reserves in the Jordan Valley. He managed to get home for a short vacation and, upon the outbreak of the fighting, was called back to his unit and sent to the Canal Zone. During the war, Necomo took part in the bitter battles against the Egyptians. On the 16th of Tishrei, 5740 (October 16, 1973), a battle was fought in the vicinity of the Lachison-Tartur axis,Eternal in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl. Survived by his parents, sister and two brothers. After his fall, he was promoted to sergeant.
