Prior to his enlistment in the IDF, Doron was accepted to the Naval Technical School in Haifa and learned to be a naval officer. Doron was drafted into the Israel Defense Forces in October 1976 and was stationed in the Navy, and his military sense of humor helped him to overcome any difficulties, after which he was stationed at the Ofira base and served as a naval radar engineer, from where he moved to the A-Tur base and towards the end of his service Moved to Ashdod base. Doron succeeded in his positions and the opinion of his commanders was enthusiastic: “An investor with good achievements.” “A very good technician, dedicated to his work and a positive example;” “Very good soldier;” “Invests in his work and shows great dedication in his area of ​​responsibility.” At the end of three years of compulsory service, Doron received his discharge certificate, which described his behavior as very good. His commander’s assessment was: “Responsible, efficient in his work, knowledgeable, with a quick, social and punctual approach.” Doron continued to serve for another year in the career army. Upon his discharge from the service, Doron began to study at the Department of Advancement of Practical Engineers at Ort Yad Singelovsky. Due to health problems, the family moved to Arad, where he began working for the Israel Electric Corporation. During his stay in Arad he was a partner in the construction of the Hapoel volleyball team of Arad, now named after Hapoel Doron Arad. Doron married Abigail and the couple settled in Arad. They had two sons – Elran and Dolev. Doron worked for a certain period in the Elco company and returned to regular service, this time in the Air Force, and served as a technician in equipment and control, and was sent to an electronics technician course at the Air Force Technical School in Haifa. He completed it as an outstanding trainee and returned to his unit, He was literally one of the founders of a new Air Force base in the south of the country, where he served for five years until a malignant disease overwhelmed him On July 6, 1988, World in the military section of the cemetery in Arad. He left a wife, two sons and two parents, a brother – Ziv and a sister – Kalanit. In his letter of condolence to the family, his commander said: “Doron served with us on the wing for five years and was a full partner in the construction of the wing, and despite his illness and accompanying difficulties, He was a loyal friend who worked, initiated and received new and additional tasks, was active in his work in all spheres of life in Wing, helped many young people and listened to everyone. ” Every year, in October, a volleyball game was held in memory between Hapoel Doron Arad and a team from the Air Force base where he served. The winning team is awarded a trophy trophy.
