Gadish, Israel (“Yisroelik”)


Son of Shalom and Hadassah. He was born on 17.4.1933 in Sosnowiec, Poland, and when he was about a year old, his family moved to Belgium where he studied for one year at the “Yesodei HaTorah” school in Antwerp. When the German armies invaded Belgium, they embarked on a journey of wanderings and tribulations in various youth institutions and among adoptive families in Lyon and Paris. He eventually moved to Switzerland, where he immigrated to Israel on the eve of Rosh Hashanah 5705. He studied at the Horev Institute in Jerusalem until his sixteenth year, and then moved to Netanya and completed his studies in an external high school. “Bnei Akiva” and a member of the ninth Nahal Brigade of this movement. Israel enlisted in the IDF in mid-August 1950 and joined the IDF. He served in Kibbutz Sa’ad and underwent various courses and courses, including an officers’ course. At the rank of lieutenant, he was released and turned to civilian life. He married a wife and established a thriving farm in Moshav Yogev. In 1961 he moved to Haifa with his family and was employed as a logistics coordinator at the Soltam factory, and served as a member of the Gadna-Nachal delegation from 1962 to 1962. After joining the army, he continued his studies And completed a management course at the University of Haifa and a training course at the Command and Staff School. He successfully completed a series of command positions in various units and was eventually transferred to the Northern Command. On the 10th of Iyar 5733 (May 10, 1973), Lt. Col. Israel was killed while serving in the military cemetery in Haifa. He left a wife and four children
