About a year and a half before his enlistment in the IDF, he worked as a diamond polisher in Tel Aviv, a handsome, Simcha and passionate man, loved by all his friends, and he was always amused by his sense of humor and filled the house with laughter and joy. Effi is an outstanding athlete who played soccer in Bnei Zion in Rishon LeZion and loved to run, and was able to dance mainly in the Twist dance, with his body swaying to the rhythmic music he loved. He always danced in the center, surrounded by a circle of cheers for his sweeping dance, a musical talent, he loved her very much And in his early childhood, he used to drum the accompaniment of the flag without making a mockery, and occasionally, in the afternoon, Effi marched in his neighborhood of Neveh Zion, walking in his head and drumming the famous march march of The IDF and the children of the neighborhood happily follow. When he grew up on an acoustic and electric guitar, he drummed on drums he had purchased and planned to set up a band. The house filled with rhythm, music, joy and joy of life, always full of friends. Effie was very motivated to serve in the Israel Defense Forces and regretted missing the Six Day War on November 13, 1967. He served in the Armored Corps and fought in the War of Attrition during the most difficult period, When he came home for vacations from the army every two months, he filled the house with his light, his unique joy, and the desire of his family to stay home. Returning to his base, Effi spent time with his friends in the sea, a recreation he particularly loved, and when he returned from the recreation he felt ill, suffered from severe stomach pains and vomiting , And despite the entreaties and pleas of his worried mother to go to the city officer for a check-up and get a sick day for recovery, Effi chose to return to the base and explained to his mother that the guys were waiting for their turn to take a vacation and he did not want to disappoint them. In the War of Attrition, on August 13, 1969, Efi was seriously injured in the head by a sniper shot in the Suez Canal and did not get up again, and was hospitalized for five years on 27 August 1974, . With his death, the house fell silent with the joy that filled it, and since then the way of life of the family had changed. Sergeant Effi Gadassi was laid to rest at the military cemetery in Rishon Letzion and is twenty-four years old. Survived by his parents and two sisters. The Yaffa and Yaffa orange tree in the yard of the family home, on which Effi used to climb with his characteristic lightness and lively sarcasm, sitting on the bunk he had set on one of the branches and playing guitar and singing, remained orphaned and lifeless after his death. In memory of Effi, a Torah scroll was inserted into the Neve Zion Synagogue on the anniversary of his death. Efi’s Yaffa, bright smile, his Yaffa, Yaffa eyes, long lashes, so utterly missing for his family. The longing for him is only getting stronger and stronger, from day to day, from year to year, and time is neither healing nor comforting. His mother, father and sisters do not forget or forget my beloved nose. He is forever locked in their hearts
