Gabriel, Gil


Son of Yehudit and Menashe. Born in Hod Hasharon on July 29, 1968, he began his studies at the State Elementary School in Rishon LeZion, and continues at the ORT high school in Kfar Saba and completed his studies at the Amal high school in Hod Hasharon. He worked as a mechanic in the garage and helped with the family’s agriculture, and Gil was a Simcha and smiling young man who laughed and joked, was very friendly and always surrounded by friends, volunteered and contributed, and for three years he was an active volunteer in the Civil Guard. May 1986 Gil was drafted into compulsory military service in the Israel Defense Forces, and was assigned to serve as a driver in a vehicle workshop in the Israel Defense Forces. On the 18th of Shvat 5787 (18.2.1987) Gil fell in his service. He was laid to rest in the military section of the Neveh Hadar cemetery. Survived by his parents, two brothers – Zohar and Ronen and two sisters – Einat and Roslin. In a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, the unit commander wrote: “Gil served in our unit for about half a year, and since then he has become one of the most beloved soldiers of all of them, and he has become a friend of both commanders and soldiers, Both in his unit and in adjacent units … There was no one who did not know Gil and who did not like … “
