Gabbay, Shuki (Yehoshua)

Gabbay, Shuki (Yehoshua)

Ben Shoshana and Eliyahu. He was born on the 27th of Cheshvan 5743 (27.10.1982) in Ness Ziona. Due to family circumstances, he was forced to move to Arad with his sister, Hanina Nurit, who was five years his senior, where he studied at the Avishor Elementary School and continued to finish the New High School in Kiryat Gat. Shuki grew up in his sister’s house, which he had as a mother. His hobby was cooking and his ambition was to study at Tadmor School after completing his military service. Life did not greet him, he shut himself up and withdrew into himself, and his great shyness made people misguided and was a hiding place for a loving figure who placed the needs of others before his own needs. Shuki revealed great love to his sister’s family and husband, and especially to his little niece. To overcome and cheer up used to say: “What we have – worth gold.” In November 2000, Shuki enlisted in the Israel Defense Forces and was trained as a driver at the Kastina transport base, serving only about a month and a half, despite his short service. And on July 15, 2001, Shuki was killed in a road accident and was brought to rest in the military cemetery in Nes Tziona, leaving behind his parents and a sister. He was ten when he fell.
