Gabbai, Shimon

Shimon, son of Clara and Yosef Gabbai, was born in Jerusalem in 1957. After military service, Shimon was recruited on 1 November 1978 to the Israel Police. He took an officers’ course and served in various positions in the Police Investigations and Intelligence Division. Shimon married Miriam and they lived in Jerusalem. In February 2011 the wife Miriam died. Commander Shimon fell during his duty on January 17, 2012, after an illness. Fifty-five years old. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl, Jerusalem. Survived by three daughters, mother, sister and brother.
