Gabay, Ezra (“Azouri”)

Ezra, son of Eliyahu and Simcha Gabay, was born on March 10, 1936 in Haifa. After graduating from elementary school, he attended a school for “BaMaleh” and a high school for clerks. He worked in the voting profession. He was a traditionalist, a God-fearing and peace-loving man and therefore loved by all his friends. Kind and loyal to his family, his people, and his country. He was drafted into the IDF in December 1953, and after that he went to reserve duty on the eve of the Six-Day War. He was called to serve as part of the reserves in the Divisional Brigade Division in the Rosh Pina grove, and on the second day of the battles, on the 6th of Iyar 5727 (6.6.1967), Ezra was killed. He left a wife and was brought to rest in the military cemetery in Haifa.
