Friedmann, Mordechai


Mordechai, Ben Rivka, and Aharon was born on April 19, 1954, in Kiryat Tivon. Mordechai was drafted into the IDF in early August 1972 and assigned to the Armored Corps, and after completing his basic training course, he continued his training in the Patton tank commanders’ course, winning impressive achievements in courses and in some of the subjects he received the highest grade. Who took over the complex systems of the tank, took a serious approach to the work and quickly and accurately carried out his duties, The Yom Kippur War broke out just as he was standing before the graduation ceremony of the tank commanders’ course. Together with the students of the Armored Corps School, he participated in the battles in Sinai as commander of the Patton tank. On October 18, 1973, Moti was killed in the battle to break the Suez Canal. From the testimony of comrades to the battle it became clear that his tank was hit directly when he passed through a minefield near the Chinese Farm. Moti was laid to rest in the cemetery in Kiryat Tivon. Survived by his parents, two brothers and a sister. After his fall, he was promoted to sergeant.
